The moment that decides a garage's day isn't the repair — it's getting the customer's yes on the extra work. ERX Motors turns that into a tap on a phone.

Overview

ERX Motors is a working garage running on a system I built for it. Behind a public booking page sits a database of customers, vehicles and jobs, and a workflow that carries a car from booked-in to collected: a digital inspection with photos, priced work the customer approves from their phone, and a live status page they can check themselves instead of ringing the front desk.

The challenge

A garage finds most of its work with the car already on the ramp — a worn pad, a failing bush, a tyre past the line. Every one of those needs the customer's authorisation before it can go ahead, and getting it meant a phone call: explaining the fault down the line, waiting for a call back, the car sitting idle in between. On top of that, the same customers rang all day to ask the one question the front desk couldn't get ahead of — is it ready yet?

The approach

I built the system around the job, not a static page. A technician runs a digital inspection from the pit, marking each item and attaching a photo of the actual fault. Anything flagged becomes a priced line of work — with a genuine and an alternative part option where one exists — and the whole estimate goes to the customer as a link. They open it on their phone with no app and no login, see the photos and the prices, choose what to approve, pick between the part options, and confirm. The garage sees the decision the instant it's made.

The solution

A single flow that closes the loop from booking to collection: online booking, a photo-backed digital diagnostic, phone approval of priced work with alternative-part choices, and a live tracking page that shows the customer where their car is up to — so the extra work gets its yes in minutes instead of hours, and the phone rings less.
